As I started experimenting more with relief printmaking, I started using linoleum as a medium to carve my tools into. It was easier to dig into the soft surface than with the wood block.. a little easier on the wrists! I could achieve more detail with the linoleum than the wood, and I really started loving it. This was an attempt to re-create the H.R. Giger photo of the sculpture of Li as seen below. The sculpture is painted, but I converted this to black and white so you are able to see the comparison with my print.
